Matterfact Earnings

Ask an earnings call a question and Smart Highlight marks the sentences in the transcript that answer it, in management's own words. Around it, Earnings follows every name you cover through its cycle: a setup before the print, results the night they land, the call to read, search and quote, and the whole season on one calendar.

Smart Highlight

An hour-long earnings call usually holds a few minutes that answer the question you actually have. Smart Highlight finds them. You ask the call a question in plain English, the way you would ask a colleague ("How did they talk about pricing?", "What changed in guidance or the outlook?", "How much are they spending on AI and capex?"), and it marks the sentences in the transcript that answer it.

  • Their words, exactly. Every highlight is a sentence from the call itself. Nothing is summarized or reworded, so anything you find, you can quote.
  • Straight to the answers. Matches are listed with their speaker and marked along the call. Press N and P to step through them, and read the answers without the hour around them.
  • Copy as quotes. Copy every match at once, each with the speaker, their title, the company and the call attached.
  • On any call. Press H on any call and ask.

One question, every call

Smart Highlight is not limited to one transcript. Put one question to:

  • Each name's latest call. See how every company you cover answered the same question on its most recent call, side by side.
  • One company, quarter by quarter. Follow one company through its last few calls and watch the story change, for example pricing going from "fell 4%" to "stabilize in the second half" to "the first increase in four quarters."

Get a written answer sends the same question over the same calls to a chat. The answer quotes management directly and names the call behind every quote.

A print, start to finish

Earnings follows each of your names through its cycle, from the week before it reports to the last call of the season.

When What you get Where it lives
A week out What the Street expects and how that has moved, rating and target changes since the last print, how the stock usually trades on earnings, and what analysts asked on the last call, word for word. Each company's earnings page. Prep turns it into a briefing for your PM.
Print night Revenue and EPS against consensus, the stock's move against how it usually moves on a print, and the call's transcript as soon as it is published, usually within the hour. Just reported. Debrief writes up what changed.
The call The transcript with every speaker's name and firm, and search inside the call. Select any passage to copy it as a quote with its source, or share a link to that exact passage. Every call is sorted into eleven topics, each passage marked good or bad for the company, so you can see where management turned cautious across the last eight calls. Read the call, from any print.
All season Your names and the peers that report around them, week by week. Season playbooks run on every name at once, and every print can go straight into Outlook, Google or Apple Calendar. The earnings calendar. Peers are outlined and say which of your names they read into.
